About Peter Llewellyn

pl_brazil09Peter initially worked as a sports photographer for many of the British national newspapers, including the Daily Telegraph and the Times.

From the late 80s until 2000 he specialized in equestrian sport, traveling around the world to major national and international events and photographing breeds, equestrian personalities, as well as feature assignments for specialist magazines.

In 2008 Peter sold his collection of equestrian photography to move back into some general sports photography and as well as wildlife, nature and environmental subjects. Using the experience from shooting several Olympic Games Peter worked for VANOC as Photo Manager at Whistler Olympic Park during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

2011 sees Peter back in the thick of the world of sports photography as he has is now working as Deputy Photo Manager for the 2012 Summer Games in London with Bob Martin, formerly of Sports Illustrated. Peter is responsible for establishing photo positions in almost all the sports venues, installation of technology, staff training and much more. Peter’s permanent residence is on Gabriola Island, a beautiful island just 8 miles long by 2.5 miles wide, a 20-minute ferry ride from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

TALKS AND SLIDE SHOWS

Peter is available for talks and slide shows to any interested groups in London until September 2012 or on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of British Columbia. Please e-mail with details of your organization.

WORKSHOPS AND PHOTO TOURS

Peter runs a series of photography workshops covering all aspects of both photography and photographic computer skills. Details of some exciting new workshops will be posted soon. You can also join Peter on one of his Photo Tours, travelling to various locations worldwide with small groups of photographers.
