Digital Darkroom: Advanced Level
Take your digital darkroom knowledge to the next level with this Advanced Digital Darkroom intensive one-day workshop, including the lessons below:
- Advanced colour correction techniques
- Using and processing RAW files
- Combining images into new compositions
- Stitching images together to make panoramas
- Using the Quick Mask to seamlessly remove items from an image and make image repairs
- Restoring highlight details
- Advanced sharpening techniques
- Correcting converging verticals
I do recommend that you take the basic digital darkroom course first as this course relies on technical knowledge taught at this level.
This workshop is limited to four students so everyone receives the maximum personal attention. If you have your own laptop computer, you are very welcome to bring it along to use on this course, or you may use one of our in-house computers. If you are bringing your own laptop computer to this workshop you will need an installed copy of Photoshop as some of these techniques are not available in Adobe Elements
These workshops all take place in our fully equipped digital photo classroom on Gabriola Island, a 20-minute ferry ride from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. I can pick students up at the ferry if you prefer to cross as a foot passenger. We can also offer overnight b&b accommodation for those travelling from farther afield on a first come first served basis. Please call 250 247 9109 for details and availability. Workshops commence at 9.00 am and finish around 5.00 pm. Beverages are provided, but please bring a packed lunch.
